End Hexamester I
Many A-TeC families observe the Jewish Holy Days. Therefore, we have divided the typical two semester school year into three terms each for a total of six terms. Each terms is six weeks in length. We call each of these six week terms a “hexamester” (pronounced – “hex – a – mester”). This ensures a balanced school year and avoids long learning breaks (the typical 3 month summer break) which affect retention. We also meet the average total school days requirement for the United Sates, of 180 days.
